Methodology

Luto conduct Readability Testing of educational materials based on an interpretation of the work by Sless. Luto’s methodology also draws upon the expertise and experience within the company and current regulatory guidance. The testing method:

  • is performance based
  • relies on outcomes that ensure participants can find and understand key pieces of information in the material
  • uses qualitative feedback from participants to help improve the material.
Luto’s methodology can be applied to any form of written information either paper or web based, targeted at a group of individuals. It can be applied to information designed for patients through to information designed for healthcare professionals.
