Our Research and Experience
The team at Luto have proven expertise in writing, testing, revising and refining communication to patients and healthcare professionals. Before offering a service to Medical Device manufacturers, Luto worked in conjunction with experts in usability from the University of Leeds to conduct original research on instructions for use (IFUs) for devices that are currently marketed in the EU.
The results of this research will be published shortly. In summary the findings demonstrated that the IFUs from the Medical Devices in many cases could not be understood by a representative sample of their target market.
Furthermore, the application of usability testing and communications expertise produced an IFU that performed markedly better and reduced the patients' exposure to risk.
Since this research, luto has been successfully working with leading global pharmaceutical companies on high profile device and drug device projects for marketing in the US and EU.
